Background
Maison de Salouva is a niche luxury clothing brand that specializes in handcrafted Salouvas. Initially, they didn’t have a commendable online presence. Their social media pages were also not going in one direction, lacking a consistent look across all channels. They were also missing a single platform where all the traffic could be directed, which was a website. Moreover, the brand needed a clear plan on how to showcase its products that were targeted toward a specific community and engage them and most importantly, make them aware of the brand.
The Issues Media Feathers Identified
- They didn’t have a website where they could list their Salouvas and add a proper description about the fabric, the handwork and all the things that make it special.
- They needed to communicate their unique story about the brand, and how it caters to the niche community connected to French Mayotte culture, as well as anyone interested in it.
- Instagram and Facebook posts had photos but they weren’t photographed professionally and the inconsistency in the feed diminished the brand’s look.
- They weren’t utilizing paid ads, so potential customers looking for traditional, handcrafted Salouvas weren’t being reached.
In summary, Media Feathers recognized that Maison de Salouva needed a clear strategy to build a strong presence across digital platforms. Our idea was simple: bring everything together in a way that the brand, its products, and its story looked consistent across every digital platform. And the entire experience of browsing the website and social platforms would feel professional while still reflecting the culture behind the brand.
Our Role: Building the Digital Face
We decided to go with a simple but clearly structured approach to turn it into a trustworthy brand and help it reach the right customers:
Website Development:
- Alongside Salouvas, they also have other non-core products like brooches and accessories that we organized into categories for easier browsing.
- Curated a neutral color palette and minimal design to highlight the colors, patterns, and unique style of each Salouva.
- Developed a website focusing on mobile optimization and made it fast-loading for maximum convenience for users and better UX.
Social Media handling and marketing:
- Created a consistent look and feel across all socials, including Instagram and Facebook.
- We posted engaging reels that showcased the clothing in a fun and creative way, sparking interest among users.
- Instead of just static posts, we opted to show how the pieces look on real people to give the audience an idea of texture and styling.
- Created carousel posts focusing on detailed visuals alongside the accessories you’ll need with the Salouva to help envision the entire outfit.
- Penned captions that were straightforward but highlighted offers like customization and had clear CTAs to prompt them to take the next step.
Media Buying:
- Targeted users according to their behavior and interest in cultural clothing and luxury brands through paid ads.
- We tested a few ad variations and captions to find out which ones encouraged the most people to reach out.
- Retargeted people who had previously visited the website or showed interest through liking or viewing a post.
What Difference Did this Make
- Social media feeds looked professional and branded and had a minimal, clean aesthetic that highlights the traditional clothing and clearly shows what each piece offers.
- The audience was directed to a single platform, which was their website which was easy to browse and had details of each product.
- Paid campaigns attracted an audience with high intent and more people were reached who were actually looking for this clothing.
- Users started engaging with the posts, sharing and commenting, making a sense of community.
The Result
Media Feathers was able to turn Maison de Salouva’s previously lacking online presence into a unified digital experience. Now, the website and social media highlight the beauty and craftsmanship of their Salouvas, the culture behind it and real-world experiences. All these entice users to explore more, interact with the brand, and finally shop. This polished online storefront generates strong impressions that help the brand prosper online.
